One day NFL historians will write essays trying to figure out how the 2017 Tennessee Titans somehow made the playoffs.— joel solomon (@joelwsolomon) January 6, 2018
Feels like the Titans need a stop here to save this game.— Bill Barnwell (@billbarnwell) January 6, 2018
An All-Star crew of refs and yet they miss one of the most obvious fumble calls possible - somehow we can’t find 15 good QBs, 15 good kickers and 15 good refs.— Bill Simmons (@BillSimmons) January 6, 2018
That was an Andy Reid two minute drill?? Is this real life?— Les Bowen (@LesBowen) January 6, 2018
Mike Mularkey’s lifetime coaching record is 36-53 and it feels a little generous.— Bill Simmons (@BillSimmons) January 6, 2018
So far with Jeff Triplette:— Bill Barnwell (@billbarnwell) January 6, 2018
- ruled forward progress on a sack where Marcus Mariota never moved forward
- called a penalty on a Titans player who didn’t exist
- missed a third-down spot by three yards and cost Tennessee a challenge
Only took Mariota three quarters to hit a receiver in stride— Pat Barker (@patbarkercomedy) January 6, 2018

If that play surprised you, you must not be a Chiefs fan.— Rany Jazayerli (@jazayerli) January 6, 2018
The Titans are gonna cover +9 because Mariota threw a TD to himself. I want to throw up.— Bill Simmons (@BillSimmons) January 6, 2018
mariota might mess around and save the job of a coach who probably needs to go. that's a tough one.— El Flaco (@bomani_jones) January 7, 2018
lmao mariota threw a TD pass to himself and then got the game winning block put this game in the HOF— Lana Berry (@Lana) January 7, 2018
Although: not sure why we’re blaming Andy Reid for the bad playcalling in the second half when Matt Nagy took over playcalling a month ago— Bill Barnwell (@billbarnwell) January 7, 2018
This one will be tough to explain in Kansas City: Kareem Hunt had 6 carries in the 1st quarter...and had only 5 in the final 3 quarters... most of the time with no Travis Kelce... ridiculous— trey wingo (@wingoz) January 7, 2018
Welcome to HISTORIC LOS ANGELES COLISEUM. Two bad-ass punts by Johnny Hekker already. Muffed punt! Falcons ball after the muff goes another 15 yards. The Falcons have had terrible starting field position all three times tonight. Hochuli: "We will review the ruling." Al: "I thought we were doing that." Bryant kick is good. Nobody needs to see Al Michaels' booty shaking, Justin. NOBODY. Look at Matt Ryan buying time. Field goal is good and it's 6-0. Fumble on the kickoff! This guy's going to the Pro Bowl? Falcons ball AGAIN! Touchdown Freeman with a push from Alex Mack. The Rams are shellshocked. Al has a Walk of Fame star? "The dogs love it." Larry David in the house! And the NBC DJ immediately plays a snippet of the Curb Your Enthusiasm theme. It really does feel like the Falcons having Been Here Before is a factor here. Gurley finally breaks out, and those flags will add 15 more, most likely. Goff with a laser to Kupp for a first down. Touchdown Rams! Ryan drops back and slips. Al says it's new turf put in after USC/UCLA. Then Ryan goes down again and the Falcons have to punt. Goff with two quick completions. Defensive holding is changed to pass interference because the ball was in the air after all (Hochuli stopped mid-announcement because I guess someone was correcting him). Guys are slipping everywhere. Ryan's got blood on the back of his neck, and his head hit someone's thigh pad on that second sack. What a catch by Woods! The Rams have no time outs and they try to spike it, but the officials are reviewing the catch. Stands and the Rams get the down back, as they should. It also stops the clock. Did Gurley catch that? An incompletion here would also help the Rams. Call overturned. Now there are 14 seconds left instead of five. Incomplete. Offensive holding knocks them back 10 yards, and they'll end up kicking the field goal after all. 13-10 Falcons at the half.
Falcons holding on here is best-case scenario for Eagles. Mediocre defense and scheme they're familiar with game-planning against. Eagles defense should be able to keep them close too. Far better matchup than Saints.— Sheil Kapadia (@SheilKapadia) January 7, 2018
I like creativity in the red zone, but no. 11 is the receiver you'd build in a lab. Just throw it up to him.— Robert Mays (@robertmays) January 7, 2018
Bryant drills one from 54. Cooper loses the ball on the kickoff AGAIN but he's down this time. Robert Woods having a game. Gurley! Not sure why he's not out there on 3rd and 14.
I voted for Todd Gurley as comeback player of the year, for coming back from being coached by Jeff Fisher.— Darin Gantt (@daringantt) January 7, 2018
Yeah, I’m not going with the “This wouldn’t have happened if starters played last week” angle. Let’s be better analysts than that. Atlanta’s defense got the job done and the Rams weren’t ready for this stage. Almost, but not yet.— Rich Hammond (@Rich_Hammond) January 7, 2018
The Doug who should be Coach of the Year is Marrone. The man won 10 games and a division title without a quarterback or his top three receivers.
Big day for @BortlesFacts. Wishing him luck today so he has more intel for us next week.— Adam Caplan (@caplannfl) January 7, 2018

It's weird to hear Nantz & Romo working a playoff matchup they'd be nowhere near if it was a regular season game— J.A. Adande (@jadande) January 7, 2018
this has been an awful sequence for Buffalo. Just absurd. Run it into the middle four times from the 2. If you still haven't scored you don't deserve to.— Les Bowen (@LesBowen) January 7, 2018
This 0-0 Bills-Jaguars game is very definitely televised on a loop in The Good Place.— Andrew Bucholtz (@AndrewBucholtz) January 7, 2018
Penalty knocks the Bills back and they don't recover. Field goal is good. Thought the Bills might come after this punt. Bortles just ran for 20 yards to get the Jaguars in field goal range. That's the Jaguars; biggest play of the game. Nantz said that's the biggest play of the game period. He just ran for another first down! Sack. Field goal is... good. Are the shadows in that end zone always that dark? I've never seen it. 3-3 at halftime. So that's where Dede Westbrook ended up. Myles Jack gets flagged for pass interference on McCoy that prevented a likely touchdown. This O'Leary guy is struggling. And of course, the drive dies. Fournette finally breaks a big run. Bortles takes off again! Fournette leaps over the pile — and the Bills stop him! Jags going for it on 4th and 1. THEY PASS?? TOUCHDOWN. Are his feet in? Yep. Jaguars lead.
Feels like Buffalo's only option is to give the ball to Shady and say, "Do something."— J.A. Adande (@jadande) January 7, 2018
Did he get hurt on this sack? Oh man. He's still down. He walks off finally and Peterman is in.
It's time for the Nathan Peterman redemption tour....oh, who am I kidding...— 506 Sports (@506sports) January 7, 2018
Goodbye Playoffs. See you in another 18 years. AND YES I WILL BE THERE. Because I'm a loyal life-long Bills fan. And obviously a masochist. #BillsMafia— Meredith Molinari (@RockMe_Re) January 7, 2018
Funchess grabbed his leg after that incompletion. Let's keep an eye on that. He comes back for the next series, where a screen pass gets busted up. Cam takes off for 12 and a first down. Laser to Olson.
Field goal is wide right.
Two drops and a 25-yard missed field goal on the same drive. That's not a winning recipe.— Dan Graziano (@DanGrazianoESPN) January 7, 2018

rivera basically had two choices: go for this or literally quit. wouldn't deserve to win if they didn't go for this.— El Flaco (@bomani_jones) January 7, 2018
that dropped td ---> missed fg ---> 80 yard saints bomb sequence in the first quarter sure feels big right now.— El Flaco (@bomani_jones) January 8, 2018
Oh God. And at the worst possible time. They've got to take him to the locker room, right? Especially considering Derek Anderson is the backup. WOW. They just showed the replay and there's no way Cam saw dude coming.
